Securely and openly link, track, and manage your online identities.
Findmeon.com solves a problem that many have today. What if you had a place where you could go to find out how to contact anyone on any number of services? You could find them on gmail. Or locate their Flickr account. Or even check out their del.icio.us bookmarks. That’s what this site is designed to do. Create badges, do shout-outs, and locate your friends. A great place to do all of this and more!

A free online office-suite similar to Microsoft Office, Zoho offers a free online writing application, spreadsheet, powerpoint, CRM, database creator, project managment, planner, chat, polling and candidate evaluation. Some utilities and applications are free up to a number of users or other criteria and may have a charge over that, but otherwise this is an excellent alternative to Office.

So here’s the deal, you call a phone number in the US listed on the website, when the gateway answers, enter 011 then the country code and number you want to reach (mobile users, do not hit SEND - the call will go through on it’s own). For Canada dial 1 plus the area code and number. That’s it! No gimmicks or catch as far as we can tell. The site says they hope the service will stay free for at least three years, so dial away. As long as you have free long distance for calls in the US you’re good to go.

Convert your music/movie/picture/document, etc files to a host of other formats, online, for free. A very easy way to convert your files to work on your iPod or cell phone. I successfully converted some mp3’s I had so they could work on my phone. A great site!

This new site allows users to submit links to their database and check to see if they are phishing sites. You can also search the links others have posted to see if they check out. Very helpful for when you get those Paypal and eBay emails…

Another list of open-source programs to download. This one has much more content than opensourcewindows.org, however it doesn’t look pretty. It is an excellent directory of programs, however.

A new site which allows you to review and read reviews of things in your area - restaurants, entertainment, organizations, schools, whatever. It tries to be just as much of a community site as a review site. If enough people get in there and review stuff it could turn out to be an excellent source of information for where you live.

Foodieview.com is “the recipe search engine.” If you need a recipe I’ve found this is the best place to search for it, results are quick and relevant, and most importantly the recipes are good.

Zillow is an awesome resource to use when shopping for homes, or for the curious. It provides home values, detailed information about a home (number of rooms, square feet, type of roof, etc), and all sorts of other cool stuff you want to know when selling or buying a home. I recently bought a house and this site proved invaluable. You’ll like it!

Digg is a technology focused news site where the stories are chosen by community members rather than editors. It is a totally different approach in that the stories you see at the top are voted on by normal people to be the top stories. It’s highly addicting! Definitely not a site to just check out for 1 minute.

Watch tv over the web for free. Works great if you’re like me and you don’t have cable. Quality isn’t always perfect but it’s better than nothing.

Another good, highly-recommended hosting site. 500GB of bandwidth, 17GB of space, up to 10 domains and unlimited pop3 email for $6.95/month make this a pretty good deal. We advise you to check it out if you need a host.
